The Official Alpine Skiing Venue for the 2010 Winter Olympics

Regularly voted as one of the world’s top ski resorts, Whistler in British Columbia is preparing for a massive 2010. From February 12th – 28th, Whistler Blackcomb will host, along with Vancouver the hugely-anticipated 2010 Winter Olympics. It’s fifty years in the making so anticipation and excitement are justified. But, what does Whistler, BC have to offer as the Olympics rolls into town?

Since 1997, the resorts of Whistler and Blackcomb integrated to become North America’s largest ski area. With the opening of the PEAK 2 PEAK gondola in December 2008, guests now have unprecedented access to both mountains’ expansive and unique high alpine terrain and spectacular vistas. The gondola is an experience in itself as it sets world records for length and height.

As the host of the 2010 Winter Olympics Alpine Skiing, you’d expect the mountains to offer amazing descents and well-groomed pistes. You certainly won’t be disappointed. The pistes are groomed to perfection and don’t forget that the 3 glaciers guarantee you snow-sure skiing all season long.

With slopes that are every skier and snowboarders’ dream, you’re sure to find a great piste – whatever your ability. So, what happens when the lifts close and the pistes are empty? Where does everybody go?
