Freeskiing in Grandvalira

With a range of vertical jumps, kickers and one of Europe’s best pipes – Grandvalira in the Pyrenees has long been established as the place to go for freestyle skiers and boarders.
Josep Carbonell ‘Hurry’ joins the Grandvalira Team Freestyle and when you add a new kickers line in El Tarter – you’ve got a hotly-anticipated freestyle season. And it’s all set to kick off this weekend…

The 2009/10 ski season has started well in the Pyrenees. Grandvalira is currently operating with 100% of its facilities open – so that’s 193km of skiable piste. In the next few days, the area’s three freestyle areas will open for what should be another fantastic season. Don’t miss out – you can even learn the best tricks at the Ski and Snowboard School in Pas de la Casa.

What’s happening in Grandvalira in 2010?

G-Series 2 (ice speed-racing championship) – 16th January
Atomic Night Fever (nighttime jibbing competition) – 23rd January
Ski Moon (moonlight descent) – 28th January
Burton Senoritas (women’s slopestyle) – 6th February
Snow Contest Tour (slopestyle skills) – 13th/14th March
