Whistler snow report – 9.9m of snowfall!

29 January 2010 No Comment

With just two weeks to go before the Winter Olympics 2010 kicks off, Whistler BC announced the snowiest ever start to a ski season.

By January 17th, Whistler had received a fantastic 900cm of snowfall and is now pushing the 10m landmark by the end of January. Perfect news for the Olympic hopefuls and visitors from around the world.

Dave Brownlie, President and CEO of Whistler Blackcomb, said: “There is a very strong sense of anticipation and excitement throughout the resort right now as we prepare to open our doors to the world. The resort is looking its best and the snow conditions on the mountains are incredible.”

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow

Looking at these photos, it’s impossible to disagree. As we countdown to the start of the Winter Olympics, attention will now turn to Vancouver where we recently reported disappointing wet weather. Let’s hope that Vancouver follows the Whistler Blackcomb lead and we can expect the best Winter Olympic ever.
