Ski Everest Challenge Returns To Glasgow
After a two year break, July 24th 2010 sees the return of the Ski Everest Challenge to SNO!zone, Scotland’s indoor snow slope at Xscape, Braehead, Glasgow.
Challengers register for the event at a cost of £20 then obtain a minimum of £50 sponsorship for Cancer Research UK.
Individuals are challenged to complete 45 runs – the equivalent of the peak height of Mount Everest (8850m / 29035 feet).
The Ski Everest Challenge is no mean feat and it has its ‘challenges’ – both up for experienced skiers who spend much of the three hours or so the feat takes on the drag lift, and down for the less experienced. Bbut throughout the event, everyone taking part is supported by an enthusiastic Ski Everest Team who are on hand both on and off the slope to make your day fun-filled and enjoyable.
To add to the merriment, fancy dress is encouraged although not compulsory.
“This year the theme is ‘Scottish Summer Chill Challenge’ because the event is being held in the height of summer for the first time. So if in the summer you will miss the ‘white stuff’ please join us for a great day out and of course you’ll be raising much-needed cash for a great cause – Cancer Research UK.” said organiser Eileen Frater.
