Dont you just hate it when they say there is a minimum sponsorship, i mean if i was a charity i would be very happy at any amount or cash i would be given by people.

Yes, I have to agree, Fred. I would be pleased to do as many runs as I could for a team, but if the team numbers are restricted to 6, there’s no way I could take part. As for the minimum amount of cash raised, again, I would just have to do the best I could. Let’s hope that these restrictions do not prove counterproductive for a worthy event.

    Hi Chris & Fred

It is interesting to see your comments regarding the skiathon as a worthy event and in 2010 made over £27,000 for the charity to support people with disabilities. It would be great to have events where people can raise what they can but there are financial targets to meet so the charity can exist and minimum sponsorships are set to give people an idea of what is needed to put on an event. The skiathon the year previously was alot more ‘flexible’ yet raised less than half the amount. Teams were set up out of individuals so everyone could take part.

Let’s hope you can take part in the Skiathon 2011!
