Alicia Keys conquers the Alps

4 May 2010 No Comment

Alicia Keys hit the heights at the weekend with a spectacular mountain top concert to mark the end of the ski season at the leading Austrian resort of Ischgl.

The US star wowed 15,000 fans, the majority of them skiers and snowboarders enjoying the last of the winter’s snow at the end of an excellent five month long season for the Tirolean resort.

Ischgl’s Top of the Mountain concert on the first
Saturday in May has become established as the Alps’ major music event and Alicia Keys follows a long line of superstars keen to do the end of season gig – the most recent being Sir Elton John and Kylie Minogue – on a specially constructed stage up on the mountain at 2320m.

The winter season is launched with an openair night-time concert in the village and last November it was the turn of American Katy Perry to perform – and she followed up with a few days on the slopes with boyfriend Russell Brand.

Check out www.crystalski.co.uk and www.crystallakes.co.uk for more details on Ischgl. Prices are from £699 per person in the three-star Hotel Alpina including flights from either Gatwick or Manchester, transfers and 7 nights half board.
