Vail adds another quad
Vail, which already operates more quad chairlifts than any other resort on the planet,
will add another one next winter when it replaces the High Noon Lift (Chair 5) with the new high-speed quad chair, the resort’s 17th.
The new lift will serve Sun Up Bowl and Sun Down Bowl and cut ride time in half from 12 minutes to six and has an uphill capacity of 2,400 people per hour.
The new lift is part of an estimated $75-$85m investment across Vail group[‘s five resorts, which also include Beaver creek, Breckenridge and Keystone in Colorado as well as Heavenly in California.
Other improvements at Vail resort itself include the expansion of the resort’s Adventure Riudge tubing hill with more lanes and a covered conveyor lift.
There also will be upgrades to grooming and snowmaking equipment.
