6 July 2010 No Comment

Engelberg no longer offers summer skiing, but the famous Swiss resorts does now stage an annual Ice festival on the eternal snow of the Titlis Glacier.

This year’s festival takes place on Sunday, July 11 and for a flat rate entrance fee participants can try lots of activities on snow – except skiing ad boarding.

The glacier party runs from 9am – 4pm in the Titlis Glacier Park, 3,020m above sea level. Adults pay 41 Swiss francs to take part, children aged under 15 are free of charge.

Activities on offer include airboarding – sledging on an inflated airboard sledge, a guided glacier walk to Gross Titlis at 3,239 metres above sea level; abseiling down glacial crevasses, snow tubing in the Titlis Glacier Park and a treasure hunt in the snow=20
