Ski Republic Report Ski Hire Business Up By Third

French Alps–based ski rental company Ski Republic has reported its ski rental sales are up 34%, this season comparing winter 2008-9. UK customers represent 55% of turnover and around 50% of all bookings now being received online via www.ski-republic.com . The company launched its `two for one’ ski equipment rental model in December 2007.

New iPhone Ski App from Nissan

Nissan Europe has launched a new ski app for the iPhone called Ski Challenge – Prove It.
Just in time for the Winter Olympics, the iPhone ski app will enable skiers and snowboarders to interact with each other via a shared virtual community. But the best thing – it’s absolutely FREE.

World’s Biggest Skiwear Manufacturer Sees Final Quarter Profits Double

The Finnish based company Amer Sports, which owns iconic ski brands Atomic and Salomon euro, reported a 36.6 million Euro profit in the final quarter of 2009, more than double the figure for the same quarter in 2008.
