First Dutch Athlete To Win Olympic Medal On Snow Trained Indoors

The snowboarder Nicolien Sauerbreij made Dutch and Olympic history, when she became the first snow sports athlete from her country to win a medal in a snow discipline.
Sauerbreij’s medal was also the 100th for the Netherlands in Olympic history. 30 year old Sauerbreij won gold in the Ladies parallel giant slalom.

Cardona Adds Quad, New Trails And Grows Vertical For 2010

New Zealand’s Cardrona Alpine Resort is currently installing a fourth chairlift in phase one of an expansion project which will increase the resort’s boundaries and the number of intermediate and advanced runs on offer. This means Cardrona will now have more chairlifts than any other South Island mountain.

British Snowboard Association Reborn, Blames Alpine Skiing for Demise of Snowsport GB

Following the news that Britain’s governing body of snow sports, Snowsport GB, has gone into administration, the British Snowboard Association (BSA) has announced it will retake control of snowboarding in the UK.
